Foraging hike set for May 23 in Galena

Participants will learn about edibles in the wild during a foraging hike event this month in Galena.

The event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 23 at 616 S. Devil’s Ladder Road, according to an online announcement.

Participants will forage alongside goats during the event. Picking and eating is prohibited during the informational event. The cost is $48.

A national taco chain has reopened in Dubuque with a new-look menu and a promise for routine specials.

Rusty Taco, which operates 30 restaurants — Dubuque included — across 11 states, opened its location at 3333 Asbury Road for the second time.

After originally opening in September 2021 and closing in January 2023 due to “personal reasons,” the eatery opened again last week under different ownership, according to Rusty Taco Director of Marketing Andrew Hyde.

Attendees will explore the world of fashion while enjoying a traditional afternoon tea.

The event features an assortment of finger sandwiches and treats and a variety of teas or lemonade.

The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children. Members of Dubuque County Historical Society receive a $5 discount.
